A New Chapter at Domaine Florian: Where Estate Wines Meet Modern Greek Cuisine

Our New Beginning

From Vine to Table

A dining experience built around our estate wines, just 30 minutes from the heart of Thessaloniki.

Something exciting is happening at Domaine Florian, and we're thrilled to share it with you.

Since our early days in Trilofos back in 2002, we've always believed that great wine deserves more than just a glass — it deserves the right moment, the right setting, and now, the right plate to go with it. That belief has led us to open a brand new chapter: our very own restaurant, with a seasonal menu built from the ground up to pair with our estate wines.

For those who've visited us for a wine tasting and vineyard tour , you already know the magic of sipping wine with a panoramic view of Thessaloniki stretching out before you. Now, we're taking that experience further — from vine to table.

The Kitchen

Meet Chef Nikos Papachristodoulou

Over a decade of experience across Greece and Europe — now crafting dishes to pair with our wines.

At the heart of this new chapter is Chef Nikos Papachristodoulou, who brings over a decade of experience from kitchens across Greece and Europe.

Originally from Edessa in Northern Greece, Nikos has cooked his way from Thessaloniki to Paris, from Crete to the islands. He's led kitchens in Thassos and Elounda, helmed the pass at Villa Luna and Koru in Thessaloniki, and refined his technique at Thalassa and Evie Evan in Paris.

His cooking style blends modern Greek cuisine with French and Italian techniques — dishes that feel familiar and comforting yet surprise you with their finesse. Most importantly, every plate is designed with one clear purpose: to complement and elevate the wines we grow right here on the estate.

As Nikos puts it: "Every plate I make is crafted to pair beautifully with the wines we grow right here — just steps from where you'll be sitting." If you want to experience his debut menu firsthand, plan your visit and book a table.

The Experience

Food and Wine Pairing at Domaine Florian

Seasonal cuisine designed around our 16 estate labels — honest food from vine to plate.

This isn't a restaurant that happens to be at a winery. It's a complete food and wine pairing experience designed around our estate-grown wines.

Our annual production is limited to just 35,000 bottles across 16 labels — each aged patiently in our underground cellar until truly ready. The youngest wine in our collection dates back to 2022. We work with both Greek and international grape varieties including Malagouzia, Assyrtiko, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Malvasia, Agiorgitiko, and Syrah, with our reds sourced from carefully selected vineyards in Veria.

The menu changes with the seasons, guided by fresh, locally sourced ingredients and shaped by the character of each wine. The result is honest, clean-tasting food that respects its ingredients and the land they come from — a true expression of the Epanomi wine region's terroir on both glass and plate.

Explore our full wine collection in the shop to discover the labels you'll be pairing with at dinner.

Who We Are

A Family Winery Rooted in Epanomi

Third-generation winemakers from Germany who fell in love with the Greek vineyard.

For those discovering us for the first time — welcome.

Domaine Florian is a small, family-run boutique winery founded by the Schneider family, third-generation winemakers originally from Kaiserslautern in southwestern Germany. In 2002, captivated by the potential of the Greek vineyard and the unique microclimate of the Thermaikou peninsula, the family settled in Trilofos and began planting vines.

The wine region of Epanomi sits on the slightly elevated hills of the peninsula forming the Gulf of Thessaloniki. Combined with sandy-loam soils, constantly blowing sea winds, and an extraordinary microclimate, it provides ideal conditions for cultivating our vine varieties — particularly our whites.

Today, winemaker Florian Schneider — who grew up among these vineyards, studied oenology in Vienna, and gave the estate its name — leads the production. Our philosophy has always been simple: quality over quantity. Pruning, yield control, and harvest are carried out entirely by hand, and our winery uses gravity-fed processes rather than pumping to preserve the natural character of each wine.

Since becoming an officially licensed visitor winery  in 2019 through the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT), we've welcomed guests for tastings, cellar tours, live music events, and special evenings. The restaurant is the natural next step — making every visit a complete gastronomic journey.
