THE VINEYARD
Casanova is a complex, semi-dry aperitif – wine that evokes strong, seductive emotions. To discover the reason behind Casanova’s name, you will simply have to confide in him…
THE VINTAGE
The year 2012 surprised our winery with extreme and challenging weather conditions. More than 120 days without rain and temperatures of 35 – 40°C resulted in a mid-August harvest of Chardonnay grapes with incredible 122°Oechsle.
THE WINEMAKING
The unstable weather conditions that year caused a major challenge for winemaking. The high fructose content called for an optimally controlled, very slow fermentation. The yeast worked on Casanova up to an alcohol level of above 17%.
TONGUE, NOSE, EYES
The residual sweetness along with the unobtrusive but unmistakable strength give a wholly aromatic and seductive result with a refined nose. The bouquet of this aperitif wine opens wonderfully if poured into the glass over an ice cube at room temperature.
